Aimed firmly at the dancefloor the Kwassa Kwassa soundsystem bring you authentic vintage music from around the globe. Made up of DJs Tom and Simon they have over 30 years experience DJing and record collecting. Between them they amassed a mighty selection of tropical records guaranteed to shake your dancing feet into action.
Kwassa Kwassa have been running tropical parties in Oxford since September 2013. Since then they’ve expanded the range of styles within their DJ sets: playing everything African from vintage Congolese rhumba to heavy modern kuduro. The bump of compas and biguine styles of the French Caribbean music are regular features of their DJ sets, as are the hip shaking sounds of Columbian cumbia and hard Puerto Rican, Latin belters.
This year we will be welcoming them to the Renishaw stage as one of the sets of DJs who wll keeping the music flowing between live acts.
