A selection of acts will be performing short sets in the more intimate atmosphere of the beer tent. These will include:
- Ben Powell – Fusing modern acoustic music with 60s folk and a Celtic / North African twist. All delivered with passion, power and soul.
- Cleo Tighe – Cleo has appeared in various venues across Manchester as well as Breakfast TV twice and has recently been booked to perform in Madison Square Gardens famous Tirnanog’s restaurant. Now 15, she would describe her music as based around Indie Pop.
myspace.com/cleotighe - Dead Dog Cider – They rose Phoenix like from the ashes of the legendary Old Spot Pickers. Pru (vocals, bodhrán) and Mark (vocals, guitar) play a lively mix of English, Celtic and American song including all the old table thumping favourites.
- Inkerman Street – An alternative mix of Indie rock and ska rhythms, Inkerman Street are based in Stroud but with local girl Molly on lead vocals. They’ve been gigging around Gloucestershire for around a year and are as happy playing chilled out acoustic sets in Kane’s Record Store as they are tearing it up in the Stroud Sub Rooms. Tonight they plan to make some noise.
myspace.com/inkermanstreet - Macaroni Penguins – They headlined the first ever Nibley Festival and some say they made it what it is today. They are back for a cameo appearance and Tim has bought a Cajón especially for the occasion. Expect a slightly more acoustic set, but still not a good time for a quiet drink in the bar.
macaronipenguins.co.uk - The Portraits – “Overflowing with promise and passion” DAILY VAULT… The Portraits are an Anglo-Irish duo who produce sonic tales of adult life, the world, sorrow and laughter, through their unique brand of cosy acoustic pop based around beautiful vocal harmonies and ethnic tinges.
